City equips High Risk schools with Resource Officer (SRO) Units

A joint initiative from various spheres of government officially launched the School Resource Officer (SRO) Unit together with United States Consul General Teddy Taylor at Cedar Primary School in Mitchells Plain. High Risk schools across the City will be receiving two officers to help address safety and security concerns on school premises. The SRO’s have received extensive training from the United States embassy in the use of fire-arms, pepper spray & radio procedures, as well as by-law training. VOC Journalist, Ra'eesah Isaacs attended the launch and filed this report.
