Food security has become a major issue globally, and of course, ordinary South Africans are struggling all the more because of the high cost of basic food. These and other issues are under the spotlight with World Food Day marked annually on 16 October. It’s about creating awareness on issues of global food insecurity and to show solidarity in the struggle against hunger, malnutrition and poverty.
