Earlier this week tension flared in the Retreat and Vrygrond areas following protest actions and the fatal killing of two taxi association members. It is alleged that the violence had been spurred on by the recent impoundments and the non-issuing of taxi permits. VOC news editor Tasneem Adams speaks to Minister Donald Grant, from the Ministry of Transport and Public Works
VOC tried contacting Mr. Basil Nagel, the chairperson of the Retreat Taxi Association for comment, but had no response on the day of the interview.
