Almost 500 foreign nationals remain displaced and living in fear in places of safety in Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape. Their spaza shops were vandalized and looted by community members in Joza township last week. The looting was allegedly sparked by a belief among the community that the foreign nationals are behind a spate of brutal murders in the township. Many have sent their wives and children to neighbouring towns to ensure their safety.
