Today is World AIDS Day - a day focused on raising awareness across the world and in the community about the issues surrounding HIV and AIDS. And what we want to unpack this morning is the plight of underprivileged HIV positive women in South Africa and why it’s important to have a gender-based prevention approach when dealing with this HIV/Aids awareness.

Nuraan Osman from the Muslim Aids Programme joins us now. She is also the director at Ihata Shelter for Abused Women and children
