There’s some relief for Western Cape farmers and some rural towns hit by the ongoing drought, with government set to channel funds into efforts to assist them.The national and provincial disaster management centres yesterday declared parts of the Western Cape disaster zones in the wake of the worst drought in more than 20 years. Classification means additional funds from national coffers will be made available for relief to assist farmers in the Central Karoo and the West Coast.
