Political analysts say the presence of the African National Congress (ANC)'s top six in the Western Cape is an indication that Luthuli House is seriously concerned about a breakdown in leadership in the province. Last week, the National Working Committee directed provincial chairperson Marius Fransman to step aside while the ANC's integrity commission probes claims he sexually assaulted his personal assistant last month. Meanwhile, provincial secretary Faiez Jacobs is in legal trouble for allegedly assaulting a researcher at the party's offices late last year.
