
Feedback on the film and publication amendment bill-outlaw revenge porn

Yesterday the Communications Minister, Faith Muthambi and the Film Publications Board presented the Film and Publications Amendment Bill to members of Parliament. If passed, the bill is set to block off the loopholes in online content regulation such as hate speech, child pornography and revenge porn. While some have welcomed the proposed changes others have sighted it as a restriction to freedom of expression and have stressed the need for more public participation.
