Politics to blame for recent spike in land invasion

A visible increase in the number of attempted land invasions has been noticed over the past two months, especially over weekends. The city’s anti-land invasion unit and law enforcement agencies have been on high alert. Areas including Dunoon, Retreat, Parkwood, Sir Lowry’s Pass Village, and the Steenbras Dam are now considered hotspot area. Mayoral Committee Member for Human Settlements, Councillor Bennedicta van Minnen claims the recent spike seems to be spear headed by political influence.
