Launch of Halal Lab in Cape Town

Last week, we spoke to the head of the MJC Halal Trust on the lack of technical expertise with the certifying body – this following an external audit from JAKIM, a top Malaysian body. And while the audit is concerning, there are some positive developments with the launch of a new Halal Laboratory in Cape Town, the very first of its kind. Now the VOC News team was given an exclusive look into the Centre for Proteomic and Genomic Research. Thakira Desai has this report
