Cape Town’s Palestine Marathon winner welcomed home

Mervin Steenkamp, a man from an impoverished background in Cape Town has come out on top as the winner of this year’s Palestine Marathon that took place last week Friday, the 1st of April. Originally from Riversdale, Mervin now lives in Bridge Town and works for the MyCiti service at Cape Town International airport. VOC reporter Umarah Hartley met with the runner as he landed and filed this report
