
Removing Jacob Zuma won't replace the ANC's 'spoils system'

After the a civil society march led by ANC stalwarts such as Ronnie Kasrils and Cheryl Carolus calling for Zuma to be removed as president, the party's Sefako Makgatho branch in the Greater Johannesburg has also sent a letter to the national office to have the president removed. With this obvious divide between these ANC factions, Keith Gottshalk warns that “History should serve as a sombre warning to the ANC of what might happen if it does not manage leadership rivalries within its ranks”.
