As we know recently, the state of policing on the Cape Flats has been in the spotlight following allegations that the ministry of police is deliberately not deploying enough police units to gang ridden communities. You will recall last week Premier Helen Zille claimed that the Western Cape government is being sabotaged by the national ministry. MEC Dan Plato has now asked our provincial police commissioner for answers on why there are not enough visible policing in areas like Manenberg, where there has been a high number of gang related killings in the past three weeks.
