For mentorship to be effective, a holistic approach that meets the intellectual, emotional and physical wellbeing of young people is key.
This was the opinion of Professor Jonathan Jansen, the Vice-Chancellor and Rector of the University of the Free State, who was the keynote speaker at a Youth Mentorship Symposium at STIAS in Stellenbosch this month.
The symposium, hosted by Rachel’s Angels Trust, aimed to explore key learnings about mentoring across multiple experiences to inform mentorship theory and practice.
