The #2X is a youth campaign aimed to galvanise youth participation in the greater democratic narrative. With youth confidence in traditional democratic institutions in decline, young people are finding greater political expression of their will in digital and real world movements. As a through the line campaign, #2X – a campaign spearheaded by two year old Voting Is Power (VIP) platform aims to amplify the political energy that young people express in these ‘alternative’ spaces, to generate the type of youth centered political pressure that will reinforce the vote; making democracy, or voting, more meaningful to them.
