
Equal Education on march for safer schools

The lack of Safety interventions at Western Cape schools has been highlighted in a recent audit conducted by Equal Education. Some of the findings revealed that a large percentage of educators are still using corporal punishment to discipline pupils, and lack of security places schools at risk. In a bid to voice concerns about the matter nearly a thousand students and representatives of Equal Education marched in Kuilsriver demanding safer schools and handed over a memorandum to the education department
