John Richards speaks to Cathy Wijnberg:
A business growth professional about the Fetola Project, a mentoring programme to assist and develop entrepreneurs in the green sector of the economy. Definition of the ‘green economy’ and its significance for future growth, the ‘triple bottom line’ concept: Economic performance; Social integration and development; and the Environmental principles e.g. conserving biodiversity and maximising energy efficiency.
South Africa is unique in its development mix, with sophisticated infrastructure and management systems, communications etc, but also ’third world’ development challenges like urbanisation and rural poverty. And one of those challenges in high relief – water resources and efficiency of delivery. The challenges also represent opportunities for innovation and business growth.
