Factory workers on Short time

Now while many communities might be braving the cold weather and struggling to keep warm this winter. It seems factory workers are challenged financially when companies place them on short time. It also seems more common in the winter periods. Earlier this week we received reports that factory workers from Elsies have been placed on short time for more than a month and some are only expected to return to work in September. Is this even legal and what interventions does SACTWU have in place to protect its members. We chat to Fachmy Abrahams, SACTWU spokesperson
