Advocate Barry Roux says State has ignored factors influencing judgment

"I would've thought after reminding them in our opposition, that they'd say 'Well, it's not a six-year sentence - it's far more. Actually the court repeatedly said in the sentencing judgment that 'I take into account the sentence already served, the correctional supervision, the tension thereafter.' The State just ignores it. It's as if if this sentence - an isolated six years. It's not. We tried to demonstrate in our opposition to say having regard to the fact - unless a person really behaves badly - that he would serve about 60% of your time. That's an effective sentence of eight years that he received. That's not lenient. Not at all."
