
CCMA TAKEN TO COURT FOR DENYING WORKERS' RIGHTS

Now we know that worker belonging to trade unions or have the benefit of accessing legal representations would find it easier to resolves employment related matters. However, due to the CCMA's new rules of representation which came into effect in 2015, this is not the case for all workers and ‘’StatsSA 70% of workers do not belong to a trade union’’. Today the Casual Workers Advice Office (CWAO), the Black Sash, the Maokeng Advice and Resource Centre and Ntombi Dlada are set to go to the labour court to challenge the CCMA's rules of representation.
