
Impact on tourism since the unabridged birth certificates came into effect

Earlier this month the Southern African Tourism Services Association (Satsa) said it may be forced to take legal action against government in order to have strict laws around unabridged birth certificates scrapped. As we know children under the age of 18 are now required to carry unabridged birth certificates when entering the country. Now according to statistics provided by the Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA) presented to parliament on Friday, more than 13‚ 000 people were denied boarding to South Africa over 12 months.
