Hamas charter in perspective

Hamas’ new charter was leaked two weeks ago and published by the Lebanese network Al Mayadeen. The charter is the first new document on Hamas’ core ideology since it’s founding covenant was published in 1988. To help us understand the current political discourse, is Toufic Haddad, a Palestinian-American writer and researcher based in Ramallah. Toufic is the author of "Palestine Ltd: Neoliberalism and Nationalism in the Occupied Territory" ( I.B.Tauris, 2016) and "Between the Lines: Israel, the Palestinians and the US 'War on Terror'" co-written with Tikva Honig-Parnass, (Haymarket Books, 2007).
