In past few weeks there has been a spike of kidnapping and murders of women and children in the Western Cape which has outraged resident as well as gender rights groups who also voiced concerns.
In a matter of weeks three females went missing and were found murdered, the recent incidents occurring in Lotus River where the body of a women was found buried in a shallow grave. The incidents comes a week after 11-year-old Stacha Arendz body of was found in an open field in Tafelsig, Mitchells Plain and the body of 13-year-old Rene-Tracy Roman discovered in a shed close to her home in Lavender Hill.
