In light of Women’s Day yesterday, one of the pressing issues that emerged this week was the alleged assault by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training, Mduduzi Manana, on two women at a private club in Fourways at the weekend.
Women’s rights groups and gender activists are saying that this incident again highlights why the impunity against women must end. And Government needs to be accountable for the scale of the socio-economic realities of marginalised women in South Africa.
