Minister urges caution as avian flu detected in seabird species

Now you might recall last year two farms in Mpumalanga were placed under quarantine for outbreak of highly contagious bird flu. In response to that, The Department of Agriculture‚ Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) had then implemented a national ban on the sale of poultry.
This week a new case of incidents have been confirmed by the Department of Agriculture warning that the highly pathogenic H5N8 avian flu have been detected amongst Western Cape sea bird populations.Minister Alan Winde spoke to Breakfast Beat.
