In 2010, David was 14 years old when he was involved in a motocross racing accident and his vertebrae was damaged. At the time he was a student at King Edward School (KES). He managed to continue his studies and matriculated at KES.

His mom had fought melanoma cancer since 2005, and 10 days after his first operation, his mom passed away (30/03/2010).

David’s father had looked after his mom for 5 years and now had to look after David and two younger brothers. David has had 26 operations to date. In 2013 he was diagnosed with a rare benign tumour which damaged his spinal cord and by 2015 he was paralysed.
