Bo Kaap residents say they will fight any property development company trying to infringe on the rights of residents. Community members gathered in Wale Street for a thikr last night, and voiced their anger, following an urgent interdict served by an urban property development company called Blok. The interdict aims to stop anyone from going near the construction site of a 12-storey apartment block being built at 40 Lion Street, next to the site of St Monicas Home. Activist groups head to the Cape high court this morning to hear the matter. VOC spoke to Colin Wardle, the spokesperson for Blok, followed by a response from the Bo Kaap Civic Association chairperson Osman Shabodien
