Protection granted to Philippi Horticultural Area

The Philippi Horticultural Area (PHA) campaign has voiced concerns over the recent update of the Municipal Spatial Development Framework (MSDF), claiming that the protection of the PHA as a Critical Natural Area (CNA) has not addressed the calls by the PHA against development in the area

Earlier this week the PHA presented comments to the Provincial Agricultural Standing Committee on the Indego Study which came out in April. The DA says the updated MSDF will automatically zone the PHA as a Critical Natural Area and prevent any further development on this unique agricultural land.
