
National Council Against Smoking launch petition in support of proposed tobacco bill

The new draft Control of Tobacco Products and Electronic Delivery System Bill 2018 (”bill”) published earlier this year has received mixed reactions from the public including organisation opposing it.
The bill proposes a new dispensation in respect controlling, manufacturing, sale and use of tobacco products, including so-called vaping products or e-cigarettes. If approved the bill will replace the existing Tobacco Products Control Act 83 of 1993
The National Council Against Smoking have voiced concerns about the safety of E-cigarettes marketing as less harmless to smokers that are seeking health alternatives. The organisation recently launched a petition to mobile public support for the bill
