Alleged rape of child in restaurant cause for concern

The extent of sexual violence and the need for community to adopt a more proactive approach in protecting children against any form of abuse are some of the points to take away from the recent incident in which a seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped at a Silverton restaurant last week.
This includes the more than 60 children reported to be sexually assaulted in the recent SA crime stats of the 2017/2018 as well as unreported cases.
