Greenpeace Africa submit comments in first round of public hearings on SA’s energy needs

The first session of public hearings on draft Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) of The Department of Energy concluded this week. With approximately 36 industry players in the energy sector submitted comments.
Despite several interest groups supporting the draft plan, environmental and research bodies believe that adding more coal fired energy to grid is an unnecessary expense suggest Eskom decommission its old coal power stations
