The past few days have been very eventful on the political front with opposition party in the Western Cape losing five of its members at a council meeting in Cape Town.
DA Chief Whip, Shaun August, along with four other councillors resigned from their position as councillors of the Democratic Alliance subsequently giving up all duties as a party member. August along with former councillors Siya Mamkeli, Suzette Little, Greg Bernardo and Thulani van der Stemela resigned amid concerns over infighting and voiced support for embattled outgoing Cape Town Mayor Patricia de Lille
