Civil society organisations have welcomed the recent Constitutional Court ruling which declares sections of Gatherings Act invalid & decriminalizes peaceful protest.
The follows a five-year-long struggle that saw 10 Social Justice Coalition (SJC) activists arrested in 2013 during a protest for sanitation outside the Cape Town Civic Centre.
