The City of Cape Town is planning to expaned the Displaced Persons Unit (DPU) with equipment being made available helpd address the increasing challenges related to homelessness.
The DPU was established to to respond to complaints and concerns about street people and works closely with the City’s Social Development and Early Childhood Development Department
Despite the efforts made by City organisations such as the Haven Night Shelter are concerned that the application of implementing by-laws on homelessness in Cape Town is not equaly applied with affluent areas given more attention.
