In this part of the show, we turn to the Middle East – where the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip has warned of an unprecedented humanitarian and health disaster after seven hospitals were forced to suspend services because of the power shortage.
Hundreds of patients across the besieged strip face an unknown fate in the coming hours as Israel continues to block vital Qatari funds.
Ashraf al-Qedra, a ministry spokesman, said several hospitals face shutting down their electric generators due to the fuel crisis. Gaza hospitals need 45,000 liters of fuel per month to operate generators during power outages which last for 8-12 hours a day.
To paint a picture of the current situation, we have Ahmed Al Najjar, President of Palestinian Physiotherapy Association and a Member of the emergency committee in the ministry of health
