President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed four commissions of inquiry in the first nine months of his presidency, its no wonder why commissions of inquiry seems to be all we are talking about these days but do we really understand the fundamentals, structures and purpose of a commission of inquiry.

Law Focus this week unpacks the function of a commission of inquiry including their aim, how they differ from a court of law and what procedures their guided by.
The discussion consists of Japhter Mapadimeng a supervisor legal practitioner from Legal Aid South Africa who explores the powers of a commission of inquiry with us. We then get into great detail about procedures and the purpose of broadcasting commissions to the public with the spokesperson for the Mokgoro Comission Bongiwe Gambu.
