It has been called a political game changer by the parties involved. An agreement was signed today that brings 5 South African political parties into a formal collective to contest the next election. The Collective for Democracy (known as the CD) has been formed from some of the opposition parties represented in the national parliament. Chairing the CD Mosiuoa Lekota of COPE said that for the last few elections the position of the ANC alliance had changed little, and the opposition parties had fought among themselves for support.
