We’ve been trying to stay ahead with what’s happening in the Central African Republic. Yesterday, assailants armed with heavy weapons were repelled after attacking the presidential palace and the residence of the country’s embattled leader. Although the attackers could not immediately be identified, for weeks there have been rumours that a Christian armed group would attempt to seize power. This particular group are believed to be backed by the former president, who was ousted by president Michael Djo-todia in a coup nine months ago. How do we make sense of what’s happening there?
