The fight by activist campaigning for the protection of the Phillipi Horticultural area is still ongoing with the group opposing U-vest’s second rezoning application to the City of Cape Town. Now U'Vest's initial application was halted by the City in 2016 due to it lacking spacial logic. A decision on the latest application is to be made following a visit to the site by the the City's municipal planning tribunal appeal committee.
