Basic Education minister Angie Motshekga announced the class of 2013 obtained a 78,2% pass rate. The pass rate has been hailed as the higest in six years with the Western Cape falling out of the top three to fourth place. But an opinion piece written by Politicsweb editor James Myburgh claims that in the Free State and North West who are in the top two provinces had a massive drop out rate therefore their results maybe illusionary.
