Various Community Policing Forums from gang and crime ridden ares in Cape Town has given the Police Minister, Bheki Cele 48 hours to stabilise the situation. This following rampant attacks on members community as well as SAPS and Anti Gang Unit.
Now while the attacks on the AGU is currently being investigated which the Police the attacks on the AGU units is being investigated a Civil activist claims SAPS Anti-Gang Unit is not adequately equipped to deal with the scourge of gang violence due to lack of funding. The controversial Operation MORT has also come into the spotlight.
