Now there has been mixed reactions to the deployment of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) and them being inexperienced in combating crime and gang violence in the Western Cape. With some critics voicing concern about criminals being released soon after arrests due to insufficient evidence. Which according to a report released by the Western Cape Government are due to a lack of detectives, minimal training and a limited number of informants.
