The Portfolio Committee on International Relations and Cooperation held a Solidarity Conference in support of the people of Palestine, Cuba and Western Sahara. A number of solidarity groups were present at the conference. The Solidarity Conference is a first of its kind to be hosted by Parliament. This comes after the call by President Jacob Zuma in his successive State of the Nation addresses since 2010, with a message that solidarity is and should feature as a strong element of South Africa’s internationalism.
