Relative of 7 year old Nathlia Pienaar gunned down in Lavender Hill speaks out

Gang-related shooting and gang-related murder are familiar phrases for Capetonians, particularly those on the Cape Flats. On Friday, yet another shooting instigated by gangsters resulted in the death of six-year-old girl Nathlia Pienaar in Lavender Hill struck in the head by a stray bullet. She was playing outside while the alleged target, a 24-year old man, received a shot to the leg. There has been an outcry to put an end to the gun-violence and for officials to heed the call for justice for hundreds who have become casualties to gang wars. But there is concern that community members are not doing enough.
