Ieglaasi Nieyah Primary School Islamic studies educator suspended

A educator from Ieglaasi Nieyah Primary has been suspended for alleged corporal punishment, pending investigation by the independent school. The incident came to light after a student spoke to a teacher about “a disturbing incident” which occurred in the classroom, remedial action was then taken by the school. It later emerged that parents had lodged complaints with police after which the teacher was charged with common assault and later released on R500 bail.
