The dreadful news of University of Cape Town (UCT) student Uyinene Mrwetyana’s being raped and murdered and countless other women lives cut short due to gender based violence across the country has resulted mass action in Cape Town. This includes students from different univerities and schools taking to the street in protest against gender-based violence, femicide and the delays in prosecuting perpetrators.
