Former Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe has died aged 95. Mugabe ruled the country from 1980-2017 and was subsequently overthrown by the military. Praised by the continent as a liberation hero and defender of African ideals, he was reviled by the West for his handling of the land reform in his country. So who was Robert Mugabe and what made him tick? On line is former Associate professor for Development Studies at University of Zimbabwe, professor Brian Raftopoulos.
