Overcoming Adversity
Loading player...
Host Hal Alpiar is joined by Randy Kidd, owner of Cookeville Transmission. Randy's father opened Cookeville Transmission in 1969, where the shop continues to be family owned and operated to this day. In November of 2012, Randy's adopted son Caleb passed away at the age of 25 shortly after becoming diagnosed with stage 4 terminal brain cancer. This would prove to be one of the most difficult experiences in Randy's life. Together, he and Hal discuss the topic of overcoming adversity for your business, and how his son's diagnosis affected the business, its employees, its customer and family relations, and how the business chose to branch out and offer more services to keep Cookeville Transmission going 50 years strong.
