The fifth Hugh Masekela Heritage Festival takes place on November 9 at the Soweto Theatre in Jabulani. This year, the festival will celebrate the late musician’s 80th birthday in his absence. Celebrated South African musician, Thandiswa Mazwai will headline the festival and she will be joined by Masekela’s band with a set that consists of selections from his lesser-known repertoire. For more on this we are joined on the line by Hugh Masekela’s daughter and one of the festival’s organisers, Pula Twala (082 554 6847)
