Muslim Lawyers Association and Cage South Africa

Local activists led by the Muslim Lawyers Association and Cage South Africa demonstrated outside the British Consulate this afternoon, calling for the release of UK activist Moazzam Begg. Begg is a former Guantanamo Bay detainee and now works as a human rights campaigner for an organization called Cage. Begg was re-arrested on the 24th February this year, at his house in Birmingham, before being detained at the Birmingham police station. He was arrested under the British Anti-Terrorism Act.
